A House Owner – Day 1
We have the keys to our house in Gometz-le-Châtel! Our first day as house owners: the notary, a musty smell, a mystery key and a LOT of spiders.
We have the keys to our house in Gometz-le-Châtel! Our first day as house owners: the notary, a musty smell, a mystery key and a LOT of spiders.
Our eighth and final visit: no address, a flat first impression, then a veranda, a fireplace and the woods beyond the garden won us over.
Houses five to seven: the Cat House and its feline welcome, an overpriced house by the woods, and an agent who turned us away.
A walk-in at an agency led to a house on the Yvette river. We made an offer, waited five anxious days, then withdrew.
Our first three house visits: shoe covers and a lit fireplace, a cluttered half-renovated house, and a palm-fringed chalet with one bedroom.
